Recognize a Lover from a Thief

Jesus told it to us straight. This life is gonna be hard sometimes, but He promised to help us make it through. That's the message the church in the West might have keyed on a little bit more than all the talk of prosperity and health being proof that God's on our side, or whatever. Gen X wanted to give our kids a world that was safe and fair, but we couldn't deliver. Jesus wants to give us power to make it day by day in world that He told us wasn't going to be safe or fair. That's the general idea of the talk today
